A Challenge to be Public Servants

So many things are happening now. There are people committing suicides. Our work should center on public service. We should be public servants.

We haven't brought public servants to our community. So, many bad things are happening. We always look at the clergy, which takes care of the flock. But we  have forgotten to do our part - to spread the Word. They're busy with  Holy Masses. Who have we brought in here? If we haven't brought to this  community the person closest to us, we have failed in our service.

Those closest to us should be here. This is a challenge.

If we can't do that, it's just us listening to God. We're not pleasing  God. People we are with every day or most of the time should be here. We should assume leadership roles in temporal work. Let's expand the Divine Mercy on the Block in government offices. Bring Jesus to people.

We have to do something, not just raise complaints. That's our role -  to touch base with people.

As a lay preacher, I'll definitely leave a Divine Mercy image at every  government office I'll visit.

The world is materialistic. Christianity is where we are almost at   every time we tell others about what we hear here.

Mary Magdalene was a prostitute, seven demons possessed her (Lk. 8:2).

Evil enters us when we sin. After her healing, Mary Magdalene never let  go of heaven - that's remarkable. If we're not like that, we have  gotten tired of serving God. We don't grow if we become lazy. We don't really know God. We get strength in service.

What we need now are martyrs. They're hard to find. To be martyrs for  love we can do, but martyrs for God seems hard to do.

Our service sometimes depends on circumstances. Mary Magdalene didn't  leave Jesus. She followed Him to the cross and after the cross. She was  faithful, she was attached to God even after death. She experienced the  touch of the Lord. She stayed outside of the tomb, waiting for Jesus  (Jn. 20:11-18 ).

All of us here in the community should be 'teachers,' not students. We  should be teachers in our ministries. So, too, our flock should be.

Mary Magdalene was chosen to preach to the disciples!

What's the use of attending Jacob's Well if tomorrow we don't tell  people around us that we have seen the Lord. Some of the disciples  didnt't believe Jesus rose from the dead (Lk. 24:10-12) and so it might  be with people we will tell the good news to, but we shouldn't give up.

We're followers of Christ, and so we are His witnesses.

In another circumstance in our life, let's touch God. Jesus touched  Mary Magdalene. If the Lord doesn't open our minds, we won't understand  anything (Lk. 24:36-45). Mary Magdalene is the apostle of the apostles.

That's our role, too. Let's convert the sinful. Jesus converted the  deeply sinful. This is a challenge - to be public servants.
