Overcoming Doubts in Reaching for God-given Goals

August 10, 2011

If you as leaders are exhausted, you have doubts. If you feel you have doubts as a leader, you're not at the proper place.

Do you remember the story of the five loaves and two fish? The Lord is saying to us, I'm not getting all of your time. Neville Longbottom in the final Harry Potter movie stood out for his words to Voldemort: "We die for people, for friends. But you? You die for nothing. People are just scared of you. You have no relationships." Do you have relationships with people around you?

Time will come that you will feel out of place, out of balance. There's no stability in life, but with God. Doubt happens when you find yourself not in place with God.

In the multiplication of the bread, you're only five loaves and two fish. God said, what do you have? I'll multiply what you have.

You are part of a foundation. You are ordained. This is important.

Optimism. This is opening yourself to opportunities rather than to obstacles. If you are narrow-minded, obstacles abound. All decisions have obstacles. But opportunities are equal to obstacles. An optimistic person says, "This is a moment in my life that I can't go back to."
This is an opportunity to be a leader for God, to serve others.

Overcome. If there's a struggle, you need to overcome negativities. You have two choices. The choices you make are the ones that stay. There are two dogs in you, who do you feed?

Offering. If you understand yourself as an offering, you are a sacred offering of God. I'm standing here because I'm a gift, although I didn't want to be a gift.

Believe. Trust in God. He gave us the gift of faith to know we're doing these things for higher purposes. God doesn't give problems, He consoles. If you believe and trust in God, at the proper time you get a win-win solution.

Beware. Beware that the devil doesn't bring you to contradictions. To be a leader is not about accomplishing things, but becoming. You are called to serve for your own good sake. He wants you to love Him. when we calculate, we become things of this world rather than acting in faith.

Experience. Expose yourself to the world, not just doing praise and worship. From this room, you will face the world. You will face your own struggles. You should do your best. God is not expecting you to be perfect, He will do the rest. You are His five loaves and two fish.
Peter was headstrong in faith. He tried to enter into the heart and mind of Jesus. If you're in this place, enjoy His presence and enter into His world. Jesus was expecting Peter to be through it.

Entrust. This means you believe, so be it. You surrender to the Lord. Anything can't be fulfilled without God. When Peter failed to recall his experience with God, He began to lose his foundation.
You. You are important to God. He comes to you personally as you. Just ask the right questions and God will give you the right answers.

Yield. Yield to promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Yes. Reply to God. Claim ownership of His calling for you.

Listen intently to God, not in loud voice or shout, but in whisper. Obedience is not just following, but you becoming like Christ in a world that's losing God. As leaders, let us allow God to multiply in us.
