Friends Las Pinas holds bonding activity at Tagaytay

Friends Las Pinas conducted a bonding activity last August 14, 2011 at Tagaytay City, joined in by 36 members of the chapter.

The group left at 6 a.m. and went to attend a Holy Mass at the Pink Sisters' Chapel. The group proceeded to the Picnic Groove where most of the activity was to be held. Bro. Mon Balmaceda led the morning prayer; and Sis. Angel Padilla and Sis. Jenny Zuniga, the joyful song and dance.

After some snacks, games were held, first of which was the "Bring Me," led by Sis. Peng Palmera, head servant of the chapter. The twist of this game was that a word will be picked. The group that is first to finish getting the things corresponding with the first letter of the word gets a point. Bro. Brian Padilla's team  won this game. The lesson was to have cooperation among team members to earn a goal.  Next game was "Pass the Message," where the first member in each team transmits a message to the member next to him until that message reaches the last member. There was no winner in the game, highlighting the activity's lesson, which is for members to always communicate well to avoid misunderstanding and disintegration.

The game “Protect Your Egg” followed, where all the teams were given one set of an egg, newspapers and scotch tape each. All teams did well in this game as no egg was broken after it fell as members were adept in "protecting" it. The lesson was for the stronger members of the community to protect the weaker ones so the latter will stay long in the community.

A sharing portion followed, where the members imparted their experiences with each other through questions given them. Sis. Miles Maquiling-Wee, former head servant of the chapter, delivered a message, inspiring the members to have a personal relationship with God by always praying to Him and treating Him like a close friend.

The last activity was the "Post-It-Note," where the members posted a note on fellow members that fit the adjectives that Sis. Peng mentioned to them like "maasahan, masayang kasama, etc." (reliable, fun to be with). Amid the rain and fog, the group had their pictures taken and ended a whole day of fun by praying to the Our Lady of Manaoag and before the giant statue of Jesus at Tierra de Maria Chapel.
