Around 10 DMOB formators and workers joined the enthronement. Sis Dina Balicanot discussed the Friends' mission and introduced the Divine Mercy Devotion. Three staff from PNP ITMS shared their blessings from the Divine Mercy.
The feast began with a recitation of the Holy Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet, followed by a Eucharistic celebration and talk presided by Fr. Dante Quidayan. The transfiguration of Jesus was that Sunday's Gospel, giving encouragement to members of the community to persevere in their Lenten pilgrimage towards Easter.
From the day’s topic, “Healing and Forgiveness,” Fr. Quidayan imparted many lessons to the community, such as that inner healing brings light to the things that have hurt us and it is praying to Jesus that heals the effects of hurtful incidents in the past. When we are healed, we can build up each other for God desires good health, mind, body and spirit, he said. The kinds of healing include prayer for repentance (confession of personal sin), prayer for inner healing (healing of memories and emotional problems), prayer for physical healing (anointing of the sick) and prayer for deliverance (exorcism and demonic oppresion).
Furthermore, the act that hurt or offended us may always remain a part of our life, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on us and help us focus on other positive parts of our life. Fr. Quidayan's message was to forgive and move on because God still has a bright future for us.
A potluck lunch was served. Then, a video presentation of the previous Treasures celebrations was shown. Sis. Lucy Raymundo shared that she felt happy, great and blessed for having a new church built near to her place and she is now a daily churchgoer.
Bro. Raul Rodil led the praise and worship. It ended with the recitation of the 3 o’clock prayer and singing of the community theme song. The day’s moderators were Bro. Jim Esperanzate and Sis. Mel Ferrer.
