S.T.U.D.Y.

Send The Unfortunate Deserving Youth to School. STUDY is the centrepiece outreach of FRIENDS that brings to fulfilment our mission of Educating the Young and Building Caring Communities. We believe that helping the young will also help their distressed families, giving them hope for a brighter future and a way to get out of the cycle of poverty. A twin effort to engage the scholars to spiritual formation will ensure their holistic development, while it is expected that family members will be part in this transformation experience.

SOUPER FRIENDS

The Hapag ng Buhay project is aimed to provide supplement nutrition to less fortunate children. Essentially a chapter-based activity, each chapter prepares a light meal to share, for at least 200 indigent people living within the district/community on a weekly basis. The community also incorporates catechism into the program. To date, we have already fed more than 6,000 children from various communities we served.

To further strengthen the spirit of sharing and of being one with our neighbors in need,we have a project called SoupER (Emergency Relief) FRIENDS. In cases of calamities such as fire, typhoon or floods-- we will be there to provide the basic necessity of food to the victims. The project is in partnership with Veritas 846 and Caritas Manila.

Devotion to the Divine Mercy (DMOB)

The propagation is undertaken primarily through the Divine Mercy on the Block (DMOB), where the Divine Mercy image is enthroned weekly from house to house. Through DMOB, the Divine Mercy Devotion and its promises will be shared to the families. There were lots of testimonies of His miracles and answered prayers. One visible miracle was the unity and acceptance of friends -- Filipinos and other nationalities in Vietnam.

Catholic Life in the Spirit Experience

A CLSS is a two-day program designed as an evangelistic tool, a formation experience and an introduction to a life lived in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. It aims to lead the participants to establish a personal relationship with the Lord and to start a new life and to heal and give hope to the wounded and broken. Each FRIENDS chapter conducts an average of 3-4 CLSS a year.

This is Your Day!

The FRIENDS together with the Oasis of Love Catholic Community bring listeners to an hour of experiencing God's goodness through healing, counseling and Gospel reflection, every Thursday, 7-8 p.m. over the only Catholic short-wave radio station in Asia - Veritas 846 Radyo Totoo. The radio program is anchored by our director/adviser, Bro. Rene Tumang with servant leaders from Oasis of Love and FRIENDS as co-pilots. The program regularly features celebrities and lay members of the communities sharing on how the Lord has touched their lives.

Medical and Dental Mission

A community-grown team of medical and dental staff and volunteers are mobilized, coupled with the medicines and other items solicited to help a depressed barangay or institution.
